RESUME DEVELOPMENT
Are you still struggling with the preparation of your resume?  The answer is knowing what your skills are and how you can pull it all together so the employer knows why they should “hire” you and what you can significantly contribute to the job.  If you understand the employer’s needs…then you can start to prepare a resume.  Learn the art of putting the right words and heading in the appropriate areas.  Know what format to use and how it will best serve your needs.  The resume is an open door to an interview.  Register now for the next workshop.  Limited to 15 participants.

Participants and facilitator will critique your resume and provide you constructive and honest feedback.  Learn more about the different types of resumes and which one or ones will work best to get you the interviews you deserve!  Please bring 15 copies of your resume or you make copies in our Resource Room

Assertive Communication -    This workshop is designed to help participants understand the differences between assertive, passive and aggressive behaviors and teaches assertive communication techniques to use in the job search and other situations.

Introduction to PC’S Learn the basics of Windows 2000 and working with desktop objects and windows.  Course includes navigating to information stored on the computer, using Windows Explorer to manage files and folders, customizing the Windows 2000 desktop to best suit your needs, and managing and administering the workstation by using the Microsoft Management Console, the Control Panel, and the NTFS used in Windows 2000.

INTERNET JOB SEARCH -  This workshop will provide the customer with some ‘state of the art’ job search tools.  The workshop will familiarize the customer with various job search websites and enable him/her to create a large amount of employment opportunity activity in a short period of time. It also provides them with their own E-mail account/address, and the set up of a ‘Job Search Agent Alert’.

INTRODUCTION TO WORD

Using Microsoft Word, students will acquaint the new user with creating Word for Windows documents.  Upon completion of the workshop, the student will be able to create, edit, save and print documents.  In addition, the student will also learn how to cut and paste text, format text, and use the spell checker, and the thesaurus.  Limited to 6 participants.
